Lewis County REC seeks a Warehouseperson for our Cooperative
Duties include:
• Responsible for all warehouse operations activities including deliveries, shipping and receiving, coordinating stock, reordering, documenting warehouse transactions, maintaining inventory records electronically and overseeing storage and distribution of inventory, supplies, and equipment.
• Issues and prepares materials for line crews, maintains an orderly and clean storage area for materials and supplies.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Ability to operate a personal computer using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Basic electrical knowledge and/or prior inventory, shipping and receiving work preferred.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Warehouseperson
I. OBJECTIVES
Responsible for all warehouse operations activities including deliveries, shipping and receiving, coordinating stock, reordering, documenting warehouse transactions, maintaining records and overseeing storage and distribution of inventory, supplies, and equipment. Promptly issues and prepares materials for line crews and maintains an orderly storage area for materials and supplies.
II. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Operations Manager
III. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Issues material and supplies to linemen, contractors and others are requisitioned.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory incoming, outgoing, receipts, transfers and bin movement through the Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) arrangement.
• Operates forklift; assists crews loading and unloading materials and supplies.
• Responsible for taking physical inventory and reconciling inventory to accounting records.
• Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse facilities and pole yard that comply with all safety regulations.
• Maintain inventory levels and data in database to prevent out of stock situations and on timely delivery of inventory.
• Maintain and store scrap for recycling.
• Maintain records of meters received, tested, repaired and junked.
• Inspects monthly all fire extinguishers, first aid kits, eye wash, AED, building & facilities.
• Manage warehouse(s) at any location to include future offsite locations by supporting plants in the area of receiving, storing, staging material for contractors.
• Constructs meter loops.
• Electronically maintain inventory tracking, inventory software and inventory records.
• Delivers materials, supplies and special equipment to the field when necessary.
• Responsible for accurate accounting of material issues, receivables and inventory.
• Perform basic building maintenance. Tasks including but not limited to monthly safety inspections, snow removal, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: This position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent. Basic skills and abilities operating a personal computer using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. The Warehouseperson will be required to be a certified Flagger and Forklift operator and must also hold a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificate and a first aid card, or completed within one year of hire
EXPERIENCE: Basic electrical knowledge and/or inventory, shipping and receiving work preferred.
ABILITIES
& SKILLS: Must be competent in the use of a computer and relevant software programs. Position requires attention to detail and accuracy with proven ability in problem solving techniques.
Must be knowledgeable of the Cooperative’s service rules, regulations and policies. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently.
Must have the ability to work unsupervised and be able to multitask, work under pressure and meet required deadlines.
Must possess a valid CDL, Class A driver’s license, submit and successfully pass a physical exam and/or drug screen at any time requested by the Cooperative.
WORKING
CONDITIONS: The Warehouseperson will report Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. This position is subject to work hours outside of normal working hours and weekends to support the cooperative during outages or emergencies. Physical requirements include long periods of standing, lifting, bending and carrying materials. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 75lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs.
Work will be done indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions.
