GREEN POWER
Lewis County Rural Electric Cooperative Association offers a green power program. Green power generally refers to power generated from renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar power, and various forms of biomass (such as burning wood chips, landfill gasses, agricultural waste, etc.). Though more expensive green power can be used to supplement the supply of electricity from traditional sources.
Lewis County REC has acquired a limited supply of green power that is available to the membership on a first come/first serve basis. Participants that wish to receive green power can purchase 100-kilowatt hours each month for 12 consecutive months at an additional charge of $2.00 per month. This program will allow interested members to obtain a portion of their monthly energy used from renewable sources. The program is completely voluntary and interested members should contact Lewis County REC to sign up.
